Naomi Oni’s Attacker Jailed For 12 Years

Naomi Oni’s childhood friend, Mary Konye, who is also 22 was today in a London court sentenced to 12years imprisonment. Konye was jailed for attacking Ms Oni with a liquid substance known as acid on the 30th of December, 2012 while she was returning from work.

Konye first denied she was responsible for the attack, but the police proved she was the one before she finally accepted and confessed the crime.

Speaking through her solicitor in court today, Ms Oni said; My attacker's sentence will end but I will have to live with my injuries and disabilities for the rest of my life. 

Konye was said to have attacked Oni because it’s believed she was jealous of her.
