Women Killed in NIS Stampede in Port Harcourt Buried (Photo)

The first of the at least 20 people killed during the Nigeria Immigration Service test stampede last Saturday was buried today.

Lucy, a woman in her thirties, lived at "German Butcher" Elelenwo in
Port-Harcourt and according to her family and close friends, she was preparing to get married before the fateful incident took her life. Lucy reportedly gave up due to the density of crowd, who had surged forward and ran over scores of others, overwhelming the capacity of the center.

She was buried by her family in her home town in Akwa-Ibom State, earlier on today.
