Days ago, some media personalities made her the subject of discussion on twitter.
Rubbin' minds host and Ebony Life TV presenter, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu started the discussion by tweeting "Mercy Johnson makes a lot of 'leading ladies' in Nollywood look like amateurs. Yes, I'm talking about all your favorite divas and A listers", the tweet garnered lots of re-tweets and mentions in less than 60 seconds - even Mercy Johnson endorsed the submission by re-tweeting the tweet. BTW, the leading actresses are Genevieve, Omotola, Rita Dominic, and Kate Henshaw, right?!
Reacting to the tweet, Chris Ihidero (a sarcastic writer and NET's editor) and Noble Igwe of 360 nobs had this to say:
Chris Ihidero: She can be very good. She could be amazing in the hands of a very good director.
Noble Igwe: Funny how I told Tula this yesterday . If she was light skinned, some people won't be getting roles sef
Ebuka: I've seen her do everything VERY WELL. Diva, runs girl, villager, corporate chick, mother, grandmother, villain, hero. All!
Chris: I have seen her being pretty immense in a few films. Actually one I look forward to working with someday.
She doesn't "measure up" based on yrs in d industry. But Mercy has delivered more daring roles than they did at her stage.
